We are so glad we chose Lotus as our wedding photographer. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and beautiful photos made it so easy to work with them and they captured such amazing memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. We had a wonderful engagement shoot with James, who helped us look natural and have fun throughout, and our happiness shines through in our photos. For our wedding day, we had Vince and James as a team. Vince stuck to me throughout the day and did a great job capturing the candid joy and moments of the day. James took artistic shots and helped coordinate our poses. Both of them played with light, angles and the different areas throughout our venue to create a holistic album of photos and video footage. Overall, the Lotus team was an absolute pleasure to work with and I would recommend them and their talent for any bride!Reena K Facebook
I can’t even put into words how thankful I am to have had Justin and the Lotus Photography team be apart of our special day. From the moment my husband and I met Justin we hit it off. Justin understood our vision, listened and surpassed our expectations. He and his team were professional, timely and always a phone call away. Their creativity and ability to capture some of our most treasured memories was flawless. I can’t express my gratitude enough. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to capture their beautiful moments with a professional team. -Jenna & Mike B.Jenna B The Knot
Lotus is the most amazing photographers and talent videographers we have ever met. Justin and his crew are amazing. Photos are usually a bit exhausting but we might have to say we had just as much if not more fun with these guys than our guest! They made our rainy wedding day the brightest and most beautiful journey we could ask for. If you are wise book them! We hope to make more memories and explore new life steps just so that we can hire them and see them again! We love love love them. Five stars is not enoughDominique Cecilia Facebook
We believe that every photo matters. Your details such as your engagement ring, wedding bands, wedding dress, veil, save-the-date, thank you card, bridal bouquet all help tell the story of your wedding day.
When choosing photos for your wedding album, these are the first photos that you and your family will see when they open it up.
After we photograph your details, we then move on to your getting ready photos. I love to photograph the makeup artist applying the bridal makeup. This is great for photos as well as videos.
We also love to take pictures of the maid of honor and bridesmaids helping the bride get into her wedding dress. These are beautiful photos to include in your gallery.
The heart and soul of any wedding gallery are the candid photos. This photo here is of the mother of the bride and the bride having a moment together before her ceremony. I asked the mother of the bride to help zip up the back of her wedding dress. As she was doing that, the mother leaned over and gave her a tender hug. This moment was beautiful and I am so happy that I was able to capture it for them to relive forever.
Your ceremony is going to be full of amazing moments you will want us to capture. The moment the groom sees his bride-to-be walking down the aisle for the first time, your vows, ring exchange ceremony, candle lighting ceremony, the first kiss as husband and wife. All of these are great moments we will take candid photos of.
As a professional wedding photographer, I have photographed over 1000 weddings. It is important to know what is going to happen before it happens so we are ready to take great photos of it.
After your first kiss, usually what happens is your procession, that is when you walk down the aisle. Then couples usually do a receiving line. A receiving line is when the bride and groom thank all of their guests for coming to the church, they hug and kiss everyone, which make for great candid photos.
After that is done, we will set up your exit shot. I line up the bridal party on the stairs of the church, the groomsmen on one side, the bridesmaids on the other. I then ask the bride and groom to come out of the church and everyone cheers and claps. After all, this is done, I then take the bride and groom back inside the church to take a few creative photos. I always take a traditional photo of the bride and groom in the center of the aisle looking at the camera. They can use this photo for their thank you card or give it to their parents. Then I like to take a few creative photos inside the church.
Chateau Briand is fantastic for a lot of things, but the one thing they lack is outdoor gardens. Because of this I always recommend to the couple to stop at a nearby park if they would like grass and greenery in their wedding photos. At this wedding, we stopped at Old Westbury Gardens. It is a great location to take your fun bridal party photos, images of the bride and each of her groomsmen, the groom and each one of his groomsmen, and of course romantic photos of the couple together.
One of my favorite features of Chateau Briand is their bridal suites. They are beautiful and can act as a full-blown photo studio. I love to photograph the traditional family photos here. The background is warm and inviting.
A month prior to your wedding day, we will meet up in our studio, and do something called a finals appointment. During this appointment, we will go over every detail of your wedding day. One of the most important things we will go over is who is in your family and who is in your fiance's name.
This is very important because we want to make sure we take all of the various combinations of family photos you would like.
While you are enjoying your cocktail hour, we will be in your ballroom photographing all of the various details in your room. Some of the photos we will take are of your wedding cake, dais, floral arrangements, centerpieces, card box, seating chart, as well as any other details you have in the room. Once again, all of these photos help tell the story of your wedding day.
One of our favorite photos to take when photographing weddings at Chateau Briand is the room shot. A room shot is when the bride and groom come into their ballroom before their guests enter so they can make sure everything looks right. At this point, we will take a few photos of them in the room alone. What I love about a Chateau Briand room shot is that it allows us to show off the room, the bride's wedding dress, the groom's tux as well as some of the details all in one photograph.
Your wedding reception is going to be full of great moments. When we photograph your wedding at Chateau Briand we will take many candid photos of your bridal parties grand entrance, the bride's and groom's grand entrance, your first dance as husband and wife, parent dances, cake cutting ceremony, best man and maid of honor speeches. What makes Chateau Briand so great is that they provide their couples with uplighting which makes all of these photos pop off of the page.
Your bridal party is composed of your best friends and close family. The best man and maid of honor speeches have been a wedding staple for generations. When we photograph these moments, we take a very candid approach. Our goal is to not be noticed when these events are happening. By doing this, I can capture the real emotions for our couples to cherish forever.
You can't get married at Chateau Briand without taking night-time wedding photos. This venue is made for night time photos. The door shot, the waterfall, the garden area, the firewall. The list does not end.
When you are choosing your wedding photographer it is very important to choose someone who knows your venue inside and out. Not just the main places to use, but the little spots most people would just walk past.
