The Riveria of Massapequa Wedding Photography
We have shot dozens of weddings at the Riveria of Massapequa. They have great food and even better staff.
When we start our wedding photos at The Riveria, I usually like get different and creative detail photos. The brides engagement ring, wedding bands, bridal shoes, and of course the wedding dress are typically what I start with, alone with any important details that the pride might want photographed. After this, I have the bride get ready in the bridal suite, I like to get as many candid images as possible, as to tell the story of my couples big day as best as possible. Once this is completed, we usually get a couple of creative photos of our beautiful bride alone, as well as a few photos of her and her brides maids, prior to the first look.
First Look at The Riveria of Massapequa
When we do everything at the Riveria, we usually do a first look with our couples. The reason for this is, we typically like to get as much done prior to the ceremony as possible so our bride and groom, bridal party and the couples families can make it to cocktail hour. Where we do this is totally dependent on the weather, the time of day and of course the most important factor, the light. If all is well and we can do the first reveal in the back garden area by the gazebo, that is my go to location. If not, there are several locations thought the venue that make for great first look photographs. I like to photograph the first reveal with just the bride and groom, this allows there to be little to no pressure on either party to act a certain way. Sometimes when the bridal party and families are watching, the groom tends to get stiff and want to act more macho. When we do is in a more private setting, he can relax and act like himself, thus showing more emotion, which is better for everything. It makes better wedding photos, video and of course, if you were a beautiful bride-to-be wouldn't you want your fiancé to see you for the first time and cry and hug you? Of course you do!
After the first look is complete, I typically like to get the fun bridal party photos done next. For some reason, bridal parties have been getting bigger and bigger thought the years, I would rather get this done with early so they can go relax then to have 20+ hungry tired people staring at me while we do the rest of our wedding day formal photos.
I like doing fun and silly things with the bridal party and the bride and groom. It allows the couple to relax and let go, thus they are much more relaxed when we do their formal portrait sessions.
After the silly and unique bridal party images are done, then we like to move onto formal family portraits. I like to do these as fast as possible, almost like an assembly line. Getting them, in and out, and as many groupings as the bride and groom would like. Before the wedding day, the couple and I sit down and talk about who is important to them, and who they want a traditional family photo with. This way, we know what is important to them and we can get them in and out quickly.
We are almost finished! All of the wedding day formal photos are almost complete, all we have to do now is the bride and grooms photo session at The Riveria. This is the point in the day where I like to move around and utilize as much of the venues grounds as possible. I typically like to start this portion of the day wherever we did the family photos. Getting a traditional photo of the couple over with thus allowing us to get nothing but candid and creative wedding photos of the bride and groom for the rest of the photo session.
I like to have the couple use the paved area to do nice candid walking shots, where the couple looks and talks to each other, laughing and being silly. This makes for great shots of them in a more candid fashion. I love the little looks the bride gives to her husband as the walk, trying to get him to relax and forget the camera is on them. This is a secret most people do not know, the first 5 minutes of any photos shoot, totally suck. You might feel weird or awkward. But, by the end you will feel much more relaxed, confident and the photos are going to show that. After we use the back of the venue, I like to walk to the front, trying to stop in the main ballroom by the windows for a shot or two. I love the white walls and the exposed bride the Riveria in Massapequa's reception room. They make for really dramatic and interesting wedding photos. Once we have photographed the bride and groom inside the room and in the back of the venue, I like to move to the side of the venue, they have a nice little garden area that makes for really pretty wedding photos.
There are so many places to use when photographing a couple at The Riveria of Massapequa. We love being one of the top photographers that shoots here.
Being a Top Long Island Wedding Photography Studio, we have shot at the beautiful Riveria of Massapequa catering hall many times.
