Top 5 Questions to ask your Limo Company
1) Can you guarantee I get the exact limo I want?
The old bait and switch. You want to make sure that if you see a specific limo you want you can get that exact limo the day of your wedding. So many times I see companies bait and switch their clients. They promise you the world and then the day of your wedding, you get whatever they send you, and then they say, we “upgraded”. This is one of the most frustrating things that can happen during a wedding day. You want to make sure that you have it in writing that you ordered a particular limo and that if they send ANYTHING but that limo, you will get some form of compensation.
2) What happens if the Limo they send is in poor condition.
This is something I see in almost half the weddings we photograph. These limo companies abuse these cars, and because of that, they send out limos where the air conditioning does not work, or the window or broken, or the doors do not open from the inside. You want to make sure that you have it in writing that the Limo you order for the most important day of your life, is in 100% working order.
3) Can I pay for everything prior to the wedding.
I know it seems like a weird question, but for some reason, many Limo companies like to get paid the day of the wedding. The last thing you want on your mind is how much money to bring with you to the church to pay for a particular vendor. There are so many ways to relieve stress the day of your wedding and this is one of the easiest. Pay your vendors prior the wedding this way, money is the last thing on your mind.
4) Is the driver available for overtime if needed and if so how much do you charge per hour?
This is important for a number of reasons. 1) You have very little say in how things play out during your wedding day. If hair and makeup run 45 minutes late, then the church runs 45 minute late, you just lost an hour and a half of your wedding day. You want to make sure that your Limo driver does not have any prior obligations. Such as picking up another bride and groom after he drops you off. This is important because having options is one of the keys to being stress free. You need flexibility in your vendors. You want to be able to know, going in, if anything runs late, my limo is going to cost me X more.
5) Will my Limo help us out at the church?
Random question right? I know, but the truth is, many times, when you arrive at the Church, most people have no idea what they are doing. They don’t have anyone to organize where to go, where to line up, when to walk down the aisle etc. Most times, the Limo driver will help with this. But make sure that it is in the contract of the duties of the limo driver to do so. If it is, great, you are covered, if it is not, then that is something that you are going to have to work out with either your day of coordinator or someone at the church prior to your wedding. I have personally seen weddings that were supposed to start on time, run 30 minutes + late because no one knew who was in charge at the church, and they couldn't figure out what to do and how to get started. Having a plan prior to the wedding is the best way to keep things running smooth and stress free.
